Artist Noah Verrier makes still-life oil paintings of modern, everyday, foods on a table. Uncrustables, Pringles with a wine glass, a Domino's Pizza Box, etc. Like a modern day Cézanne or Caravaggio.

Unforgetful is a new iPhone app for “procrastinators, ADHD, and forgetful people”. That's certainly me. It sits on top of the stock Reminders app as a simpler interface, which is promising. I'm giving it a trial this week...and checking that off the list.

Midnight Vinyl Club is a new site that tracks new and trending album releases and finds you the best deal on buying the vinyl. There's also a social component so you can follow friends and get recommendations. I absolutely love that the site is devoted to music discovery that's physical. I need to dig into this. Also, please emoji overlords, give us a vinyl record emoji asap.

A Japanese brand made bandages that make it look like the wound underneath is 8-bit pixellated. Cuts and scrapes as retro tech fashion? I did not expect to be typing this today, but here we are. And I welcome the benign distraction.

This Week’s Poll

Last week I asked about brand mascots and surprisingly y'all chose the Pillsbury Doughboy by an overwhelming amount. Kool-Aid Man came in 2nd.

Danmade This Week

Back to working on Racely (a slanted version of Parkly Wide with speedy wind lines). I've been adding contextual alternates to automatically show a different wind pattern when two letters are repeated. This is a super niche look, but will hopefully be useful for that one project where you need it. It'll have a simplified glyph set and a lower price.

Also! It's been a while, and so today (Friday) at 1pm ET I'll be doing another livestream for Secret Club™ members. I'll hop on for an hour of live type designing. This time, I'll keep moving on our previous project font but bringing it into the new Glyphs 4 to check out some of the new features they've added. I'll be recording it and making it available to club members to view whenever they'd like.
