Hey, I’m Dan. These days I spend my time making imperfect display fonts, putting them on carefully considered goods, writing the occasional book, and tinkering in the studio. It’s a dream job, really. The Secret Club is an annual membership that helps support this tiny, independent type foundry and Danmade™ workshop.

All the Fonts

Secret Club members can download and use any of our fonts, including any future releases throughout the year (Standard Licenses). The fonts are yours to keep and use, even if you’re no longer a member. Simple, generous, and straightforward.

Community Access

Access to our dedicated, private Slack community for Secret Club members only. A safe place to secretly talk all things type and design. Share your work and inspiration, get feedback, see work-in-progress.

Member Discounts

Members receive 25% off SimpleBits Goods and 40% off individual font purchases (helpful if you want to purchase a specific font outright or license something for a client).

Free Pre-Releases & Updates

We'll share new and updated typefaces with the Secret Club before they're released to the public. Help kick the tires on our in-progress fonts and get our new releases before anyone else.

Secret Meetings

We'll have monthly virtual meetups of our Secret Club to show and tell type and design things.

Bonus Extras

From time to time, members may also get early or exclusive access to new projects, experiments, or articles. We'll share to logged-in members in the Notebook and email. Topic suggestions welcomed!

Billed annually. I’ve kept the price simple and intentional—more than a single font purchase, less than buying a few over time, and enough to help support this tiny, independent operation.

Secret Club FAQ

Do I get access to all fonts?
Yes. While you’re a Secret Club member, you can download and use any font in the SimpleBits library, including future releases.

What happens if I cancel my membership?
You keep and can continue using any fonts you downloaded while you were a member. You just won’t receive updates or future releases after your membership ends.

Do I lose the right to use fonts if I leave the Club?
No. Fonts you’ve already downloaded remain licensed for use. There’s no expiration on past work.

Is this a subscription font library?
Not exactly. The Secret Club is a support-based membership that includes font access while you’re a member—plus permanent use of anything you download during that time.

Can I still buy fonts individually?
Absolutely. Individual font purchases are still available, and members receive a hefty discount!

Is there a monthly option?
No. The Secret Club is billed annually to keep things simple and sustainable.

What license is included for all of the fonts?
Fonts downloaded during membership come with a perpetual Standard License (good for solo folks and companies up to 20 employees) for any personal or commercial use; continued membership is only required for updates and new releases. See our Super Simple License Agreement for more info.

Does the annual subscription renew automatically?
Yes, it does—but you can cancel at any time.

Do you offer student discounts?
Sure, just reach out and give us the details. I'd be happy to offer a steep discount for current students.
