Introducing Kyroh

Greetings Simple Friends,

Today I'm excited to officially release my latest typeface, Kyroh. It's available for sale in the shop, and has also been distributed to all Secret Club members.

Kyroh is an all-caps, sans-serif display font inspired by a vintage luggage label from the National Hotel in Cairo, Egypt (found in the amazing book from Letterform Archive which is highly recommended).

I riffed off the hand-lettered word “EGYPT” from the label and filled out the rest of the alphabet informed by those five letterforms. I love how wide and chunky the word was lettered, and the simplified G and lowercase-ish Y had me thinking of how the rest of the alphabet might play off of those imperfect, inky, rounded-but-rough shapes.

Kyroh comes in three weights: Regular, Medium, and Bold and has our standard extended language support with diacritics and additional glyphs. Plus! A few Egyptian icons based on some of the common hieroglyphics.

Kyroh is available now, individually in our shop or join our Secret Club™ and get ALL the SimpleBits® fonts + other perks for just $60/year.

Thanks for your support! Enjoy the new font, tag us if you use it, and see you back here on Friday for my next Studio Notes™.

Cheers,
