I'm one of those folks that enjoys watching time-lapse videos of people power-washing patios, cleaning old rugs, landscaping insanely-overgrown lawns, etc. But Santa Cruz landscaper, Jesse Arrowood, takes things to another level by cleaning up public spaces so that he can skateboard them. It's satisfying to watch, and he's a great skater. He's even selling his own Scape & Destroy merch to help support these volunteer clean-ups.

Watch this incredible 9 year old draw a dozen fonts on the sidewalk in chalk from memory. The human mind can be extraordinary. And we all know he could've easily done Papyrus as well.

Josh Comeau's, A Friendly Introduction to SVG is a fantastic, easy-to-follow, interactive primer on making vector graphics on the web. What a gift. Also impressive are the fun (and so wonderfully subtle) little animated interactions peppered throughout his site. These little details are everything. (Thanks to Zachary Cohen for sharing this in the Secret Type Club)

If you're a fan of shows like Ted Lasso or Shrinking, check out Stick on AppleTV+. It'll make you forget Owen Wilson's awful rom com era and remind you of his early comedic prowess. This is the kind of show that is so welcomed in these Trying Times™: Funny, with ups and downs, primarily about human struggles—but ultimately a hopeful, feel-good triumph. Oh, and apparently it's also about golf. I like golf, but you really don't need to like golf to like this show. Great cast. And I'm happy to hear it'll be back for season 2.

What are you working on?

Work on Turbeau, our next typeface, is moving right along. This week, we shared a free, pre-release version of the fonts with Gold members. We'll collect feedback and fine-tune things for an official release sometime likely next month.

Other than tweaking letters and the spaces in between them, I made some subtle updates to our font licensing for sales going forward. Still avoiding legal jargon and trying to keep things extra simple: Just two options based on number of employees. For 98% of you, nothing will really change and if anything the Standard license is even more generous that it was previously. Anyhow, onward and upward—and make sure you take advantage of the winding down of Summer if you're here in the Northern Hemisphere.
Cheers,
