Studio Notes #98
Hello hello, my Friends. Here are this week’s Studio Notes™—quick bits delivered to you each Friday.

A magnetic power bank that looks like an old floppy disk. Yep, I'm certainly the target audience for one of these. The little tiny screen and 64GB storage are nice touches as well. Old tech meets new tech. Lo-fi high tech. Nostalgitech. Etc.
🛹
Old skateboard decks are prime candidates for cool up-cycling projects. Like these beaded bracelets. I have no idea why the veneer layers of a skateboard are often multi-colored, but it sure looks cool when exposed. Case-in-point: the furniture from Barouse Works looks incredible.

This week's Best Analog Made Thing goes to this timelapse of Jaeseo Papercraft making an incredibly hyper-realistic paper airplane of a Korean Air 777 jet. I mean, I made plenty of paper airplanes back in my middle school days, but this is some jaw-dropping insanity. My only question is...will it fly?

Mighty Mascot is a neat account I came across that shares vintage epherema related to company mascots. Tons of illustration and type inspiration in these old artifacts.
This Week’s Poll
Who's your favorite mascot (from this very non-comprehensive list)?
Last week I asked who the best Spider-Man is, and I agree with you on Tom Holland. Spider-Pig, which came in second, might've caused some confusion with Spider-Ham, which I should've included! The former being an old Simpsons episode reference.

This week I released the big Hubano update, adding more weights, additional glyphs, and fixes. Since Formula 1 is back this weekend, it felt good to put those bold weights to use on the poster for Vandvoort with my podium predictions.
In other news, I dropped my youngest off at college this week in Brooklyn and have been in an anxiety-induced, unproductive haze ever since. Parenting! I swear it gets more difficult as the years fly by.
