Studio Notes #97
Summer Greetings, Friends. Here are this week’s Studio Notes™—quick bits delivered to you each Friday.
🦈
A group of friends in Quincy, Massachusetts recreated the entire Jaws movie shot for shot over eight years. It's fun to just scrub to random points to see how they creatively remade the iconic scenes on essentially a zero budget. Ultimate fan art.
🦇
Bat Poket is a leather wallet with a cut-out for your ID photo that makes it look like you are Batman. It's pretty dumb! But perhaps in a good way? I'm wondering how the photo lines up perfectly with so many different ID formats. It probably doesn't for most. But still, a wacky idea that someone actually made come to fruition deserves a look.
🦝
Robin Pecknold from one of my favorite bands, Fleet Foxes, has written a little song about Jimothy and it's both hilarious and genuinely beautiful. Seeing Jimothy remaining in the public consciousness is giving me wings this summer.

A theater employee hand-drew a poster for the new Spider-Man: Brand New Day movie at the direction of the manager when the theater didn't receive official posters. He based his version on the “Spooderman” meme and I dare say the result was...perfect. Marvel, get an RFP over to this kid, stat.
This Week’s Poll
Who is the best Spider-Man?
Last week I asked which web design trend needs a comeback and I was delighted to see default blue hyperlinks winning. Nothing is more iconically web than the mighty blue link.
