Studio Notes #88
Greetings, Good Folks. Here are this week’s Studio Notes™—quick bits delivered to you each Friday.
🥏
Master type and lettering designer, Simon Walker, made The Cover Letters Archive to feature his collection of album art. A no-brainer follow! And let this be a formal plea to the emoji gods for a vinyl record. And cassette. I used a Frisbee for this one, which is a stretch (though it works perfectly for TRON).

I'm a Celtics fan, but my goodness what a comeback for the Knicks. I'll admit it though, I was more interested in Taylor Swift's custom “Stevie Knicks” t-shirt she was wearing courtside. I do love a good pun tee. It turns out Alana Haim screen-printed the Knicks tees with $3 shirts from Michaels and a Cricut. It was nice to get a little behind-the-scenes so quickly after the game, but I fear someone is going to rip off the idea and start selling these at $100 a pop.

Enjoyed this post from Sophie Shepherd reflecting on a year of traveling the world with her family of three. What a journey. I liked her thoughts on why we travel and what keeps it exciting and how it can help you appreciate wherever home is.
Also, an incredibly-belated “thank you” to Sophie for volunteer organizing several big Dribbble meetups we threw in Austin back in the day. I miss the community that was the core of what Dribbble was for so many years. But feel grateful that it happened when it did.
It looks like they're currently sold out, but Focus Features actually made real One Wish Willows and apparently people—lots of people—bought them?! If you've seen Obsession (a really great film) you would either love the idea of having one of these, or, if you're like me, you would run away as fast as you can. On a side note, I really the packaging and design of these things.
This Week’s Poll
Would you break a One Wish Willow?
Last week I asked about practical film effects vs. CGI. See the results.
Danmade This Week

This week, while testing Kyroh, I made a random list of movies that are set in Egypt—but failed to mention my favorite of the bunch... Raiders of the Lost Ark! How could I forget the best of the best?
Anyway, I'm looking forward to pushing Kyroh over the finish line soon.
