About SimpleBits
SimpleBits is a tiny web design studio founded by Dan Cederholm. We create simple, readable, handcrafted interfaces balanced with a standards-based methodology, and we’re based in Salem, Massachusetts.
The Company
SimpleBits designs and builds simple, usable, and attractive interfaces that account for speed, file size, readability and accessibility — using web standards. Learn more about completed work, or get in touch to talk about how the studio can work with you, creating hand-crafted pixels and text.
In addition to custom design services, SimpleBits also offers reasonably-priced, royalty-free stock icons for the web at our IconShoppe, stylish t-shirts for the digital aficionado, as well as books and other publications written by Dan Cederholm.
Hosting
SimpleBits is hosted by MediaTemple, who offer a variety of low-cost but feature-rich hosting plans. We’ve been very happy to store our bits and bytes there.
Dan Cederholm / Principal
A designer, author, speaker, husband and father living in Salem, Massachusetts. Dan is the Founder and Principal of SimpleBits, LLC, a tiny web design studio.

A recognized expert in the field of standards-based web design, Dan has worked with Google, MTV, AIGA, ESPN, Blogger, Fast Company, Inc.com, and others. With each new project, comes an opportunity to minimize markup and embrace the flexibility of CSS.
Dan co-founded Cork’d, a social network and reviewing application for wine aficionados, and launched IconShoppe, a storefront for stock web icons hand-crafted by SimpleBits.
He is the author of two popular books: Bulletproof Web Design (New Riders) and Web Standards Solutions (Friends of ED). Dan also runs the popular weblog SimpleBits, where he writes articles and commentary on the web, technology and life.
Dan enjoys sharing his simplistic approach to web design, while spreading the word on the standards-based markup and style techniques he's collected by speaking at conferences and corporations world-wide.
He also plays a mean ukulele and occassionally wears a baseball cap.

Meagan Fisher / Deputy Designer
Meagan Fisher is a web designer who works through the night to create simple interfaces and well-written markup.

When not conspiring with SimpleBits to take over the world, she creates web magic with her own clients. Along the way she has worked with Rails Machine, Halogen Guides, Airbag Industries, Change.org, and MTV. She writes about her experiences, and occasionally about chintzy owl accessories, on meaganfisher.com.
