Looks like the Beastie Boys’ Grand Royal magazine is back — on the web anyway. [via K10K]

Finally saw Best in Show last night, and it was just as funny as I thought it would be. Eugene Levy, Christopher Guest, Fred Williard, etc. displayed some pure comic genius. It just secures the fact that the “mockumentary” format is my new favorite style of film. Highly recommended if you liked Spinal Tap or Waiting for Guffman.

Amazingly, this is not the Onion — it’s real news.

Does anyone know anything about founding a new city? What’s stopping people from going out in the middle of nowhere, and claiming land for their own. I’ve been thinking I’d like to start my own city. And I’d name it — (warning, I’ve never actually gone to this site) American City.

So far, this book seems pretty great. The author goes a little toward the extreme with the “you can only use HTML 1.0″, but I get the feeling that the book will be good insight for trying to design with speed, simplicity, and usability in mind.

Finally, a candidate I think I can vote for.

It’s sites like K10K that make me want to redesign everything. Now, after visting only a couple times, I don’t pretend to know exactly what its purpose is — but I do know it’s got some talented people behind it, and there’s some really great animation, fonts and desktop images there. Not a pixel out of place, either.

In other news, I finally have BeOS up and running again on a new hard drive. Sadly, I can’t post with Blogger under NetPositive. Damn, someone give us a decent browser for Be. Don’t get me wrong though, I still love the simplicity.

This guy is a genius.

Driving down the Mass Pike toward Boston, it’s not often that you see an airplane on the opposite side of the highway. Yesterday, I did. Now, I’m wondering a couple things: did he have to pay the toll? were the people with sunroofs more freaked out than people that didn’t?

Foosball.com has some amazing video clips. Especially the last one, Jim’s Tornado Aerial Shot — also check out the Long Shot (funny enough, a movie from the 70s starring Leif Garret). I can’t believe these are possible.
