Scientists have invented a new color they're naming "olo", which can only be seen by shooting a laser into your eye. Apparently it's “...a highly saturated bluish-green teal color unlike anything in the real world”. Would you take a laser to your eye to catch a glimpse of olo?

I enjoyed this story about 93 year old, Bob Gurr, who designed legendary things for Disney like the Monorail, Haunted Mansion's "doom buggies", Matterhorn bobsleds, etc. He also has a show on YouTube and a feature-length documentary that premiered last week (hoping this is streaming soon).

We saw Sinners this week in IMAX and boy did it not disappoint. What a "complete" film. Cinematography, score, music, acting, etc. Ryan Coogler has created a classic. I'm glad we chose IMAX, which is Coogler's intended format. The ultra wide shots open up vertically at certain points of the movie for extra impact. It's a great use of the larger screen. I really enjoyed this one—and especially that it's an original story. ★★★★★

Intrigued by the forthcoming Slate EV pickup truck. Under $20K, one single model in one single color to simplify manufacturing, customizable, etc. The more EV options out there the better! Especially at that price point (and the lack of an insane madman CEO). But most interesting to me is the idea of Slate's molded plastic panels instead of the usual sheetmetal. If you stick with the stock grey, scratches and dings are far less noticeable since the panels are a solid plastic and the color is consistent inside and out. Embracing wear and tear as a character-building patina would be a fresh take on cars.
